Large Pacific Northwest Radiology group with busy interventional practice seeks a Physician Assistant to work with and under the supervision of General and Interventional Radiologists in both outpatient clinic and hospital settings.
TRA Medical Imaging is a growing 42 physician-member group based in Tacoma, Washington. Our practice is balanced between our four outpatient imaging centers, in addition to providing service to four community hospitals: Tacoma General/Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way (between Seattle and Tacoma), and St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood (south of Tacoma). In Q1 of 2009 we will be adding our fifth hospital, St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor.
Primary duties of the PA would include performing various radiology diagnostic examinations, assisting with and performing interventional procedures utilizing imaging guidance, facilitating inpatient and outpatient consultation and post procedural follow-up, and working closely with our seven Interventional Radiologists, two Neurointerventional Radiologists and three Physician Assistants to support our rapidly expanding IR and INR service.
Strong clinical experience with surgical, intensive care or interventional radiology/cardiology background preferred. This position requires a licensure to practice in the state of Washington.

Interventional Radiology Nurse
REGISTERED NURSE JOB DESCRIPTION
General Summary:
Under general supervision cares for and treats patients in TRA Medical Imaging, Tacoma office, as directed by the Physician.
Essential Job Functions:
• Provides patient care in accordance with the mission statement of TRA Medical Imaging: “Excellence Person to Person”.
• When needed assesses and monitors patient condition and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Performs special procedure workups, assists with special procedures and performs post procedure care.
• Assists with proper procurement of consent forms
• Assists with contrast reactions or infiltrations.
• Assists radiologist and technologist with procedures and treatments whenever necessary.
• Starts and assesses IV lines when necessary.
• Skillful in the use of special equipment such as monitors, oxygen, suction, resuscitation equipment and EKG. Ability to recognize EKG changes.
• Provides CPR and IV training.
• Administers Hepatitis program and new employee TB testing.
• Maintains inventory levels of all medications and/or controlled substances.
• Maintains department medical emergency supplies.
• Assist in all areas of the facility as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and maintain current R.N. license
and ACLS certification.
Experience:
Interventional and neurointerventional imaging experience desired.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time.

Radiology Assistant

SUMMARY
The Radiology Assistant is responsible for assisting the TRA radiologists in any way that will allow the team to work more effectively and efficiently in the hospital radiology environment.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
1. All procedures will be performed under the direct supervision of the attending Radiologist.
2. Performs fluroroscopy (i.e. upper GI, esophogram, VCUG, etc.), paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture/myleography, arthrography, PICC placement and PICC manipulations, enterostomy tube exchange/replacement with fluoroscopy, and imaged-guided central venous line placement.
3. Assists Radiologists with invasive procedures.
4. Monitors selected examinations (e.g. Upper GI, esophogram, VCUG, etc.)
5. Injecting agents that facilitate and/or enable diagnostic imaging.
6. Placing nasoenteric and oroenteric feeding tubes.
7. Communicating initial observations of images to a Radiologist.
8. Maintains patient confidentiality.
9. Performs related work, as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. MSN Degree preferred.
2. Successful completion of an approved Radiology Assistant program.
3. Knowledge of professional clinical theory, practices and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.
4. Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
5. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
6. Previous experience in radiological sciences.
7. Must function smoothly as a team member.
8. Must be able to work in stressful emergency situations.
9. Must be able to maintain quality control standards.
10. Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
11. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
12. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and hospital personnel.
Referral Coordinator
FT, days, M-F. Responsible for ensuring required referral and pre-authorization documents are obtained for all patients referred for outpatient diagnostic imaging tests. Experience in a medical office and prior experience with referral coordination preferred. Strong telephone, customer service and exceptional computer skills required. |
