TMJ
The most common cause of TMJ (temporomandibular jaw dysfunction)
pain is displacement of the meniscus or disc, which fills the joint
space. MRI is the only imaging modality where the position of the
disc and its dynamic motion can be visualized while the jaw is open
and closed.
Use of TMJ coils are necessary to enhance visualization of both
sides of the jaw joint.
