Affordable Care Act
The Affordable Care Act went into effect on January 1, 2014, and all individuals are now required to have health insurance. This is a national effort created to ensure that everyone has access to health care, regardless of financial circumstances, even if they are sick or have a prior health issue.
If you are one of nearly 1 million uninsured in our state, you can shop for a plan that fits your health care needs and your budget. You may even qualify for low-cost or no-cost health insurance. To find, compare and enroll in the health plan that fits your needs and budget, visit Washington Healthplanfinder or call toll-free (855) WAFINDER (1-855-923-4633). If you would like one-on-one support to help you learn about your options and enrollment, click one of the links below for local in-person assisters or enrollment events:
Before you apply for financial assistance with TRA-MINW, we encourage you to first attempt to enroll in an insurance plan.
Financial Aid Application
TRA-MINW provides generous financial assistance to qualified patients. However, before you apply for financial assistance, please apply for insurance coverage through the Washington Healthplanfinder. If you have already applied for health insurance, please provide information about your insurance with your financial aid application.
Please note: Qualification for a health insurance program will not bar you from participating in our financial assistance program. Our program may cover the deductible or coinsurance, if eligible, and may cover charges of participants not eligible for insurance.
If you think you might be eligible for financial assistance, please fill out the application linked here, and return it, along with any supporting documents, to any TRA facility, at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. You can also mail or fax it with any supporting documents to:
